“Glory sing the cherubs in the fields of Bethlehem…”

You are not only the joy of Israel and of all mankind; you are also the joy of the angels, our friends in heaven.

How you must have rejoiced, beloved angels, when you recognised in God’s light His immense Wisdom in choosing this way of salvation!

Your songs of joy resound again in our hearts: “Glory to God in the highest heaven!” (Lk 2:14)

It was you who brought the message: “Do not be afraid. Look, I bring you news of great joy, a joy to be shared by the whole people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” (Lk 2:10-11).

We ask you to be especially close to us in these holy days, so that we may be freed from the heaviness of our earthly burdens and praise the Lord together with you. Yes! He is also your Lord, whom you love with all your being and whose Will you fulfil at all times.

You, beloved Divine Child, delight the whole universe. All those who accept Your tender love, You fill them with joy.

Beloved angels, let us worship the Lord together, for He has made us brothers and sisters! Thus, we can already here on earth initiate what we will do in heaven for all eternity, and for which we have been created.

Angels and men united in the praise of the Lord! What a grace this holy time gives us!

And something more, beloved angels… You have joyfully proclaimed the Lord. You are always ready to come to the aid of men. You always hasten to do God’s will, willingly, completely and immediately.

What do you think if together we give a great joy to the Child Jesus? Let us seal a covenant of love before His manger. You and we, who have given our hearts to Him, let us once again go out into the world to proclaim to people the love of the Father, who sent us this Child. Indeed, He Himself came to make this love known to us. This is the great desire of His Heart!

And would you lend us your songs for this service?

Perhaps now, hearing us speak like this, the Child smiles at us. Have we touched Your Heart, little Child? A gift of those who love You.
