“Go, my son, go, I am coming!” (Inner Word)
This is a loving yet firm call to continue on our life’s journey and fulfill the mission our Father has entrusted to us. God continually encourages us to press on toward our goal, as the holy Apostle Paul says: “Make the most of the time!” (Col. 4:5; Eph. 5:16).
We must make the most of the time given to us! Compared to never‑ending eternity, it is so short, yet long enough. If we take each day as it comes, it will be long enough. If we let time slip away, then things may get tight, and we may have to make up for lost time.
Let us focus more on the second part of the sentence. Here, the Lord speaks of His coming. This can be interpreted as the Second Coming of Christ at the end of time, which may be very near, or as the moment of our death when we are led to our Father.
However, it surely means that our Father sees all our efforts and is always ready to support, uplift, and strengthen us. In this sense, our Father comes to us constantly, as soon as He perceives that we are focused on Him. This is especially true when we are working for the Kingdom of God. Then each of our steps is under the special care of His grace, because our Father is working with us. God will not fail for a single moment to provide us with what we need for our journey. After all, we have been called to His service.
The important thing is that we walk in trust with God and His mission without hesitation. We cannot rely on our own strength, but on the faithfulness of the One who calls us and comes to meet us!
