“OUR DIVINE FRIEND”

“First learn to know Me better and to love Me to the extent that I desire, that is, not only as a Father, but as your Friend and Confidant.” (From God the Father’s message to M. Eugenia Ravasio).

What does such a friendship, to which the Divine Father calls us, look like?

Such a friendship thrives on the trustworthiness and goodness of the One who offers it to us. In this case, it is God Himself, who never wavers in His friendship with us and fills it with His grace. On our part, it is the desire to be completely united with our divine Friend so that “rivers of living water” (John 7:38) may flow from this friendship into the world.

On our part, we will present all our concerns to our divine Friend: what we carry within us, the hopes we hold, and, above all, our constant desire to be completely united with Him. In doing so, we are free to speak openly with our Friend and ask questions about things we do not immediately understand. It is a tremendous joy to be able to speak to our divine Friend at any hour!

On God’s part, our Father will prove Himself to be the Friend who leads us to greater surrender to His will with infinite wisdom. As a Friend, He corrects us and tells us the truth when we are in danger of faltering on our path. He will always do this within the context of this friendship, so that our hearts will not lose courage, but will instead be strengthened by His love and comfort.

Since our divine Friend desires the best for us and for others as well, He will draw us to walk the path of holiness even more zealously, so that flowers of love and truth may blossom from this friendship, and so that we may offer them to others as a loving greeting from their Divine Father!
