O King of the nations, and their desire,
the cornerstone making both one:
Come and save the human race,
which you fashioned from clay.
All peoples are waiting for you, O King of nations.
Deep down they know it:
There must be the One who truly loves us;
There must be the One whom we willingly serve,
There must be the One who does not take advantage of us for his own interests,
He who does not oppress us,
The One who can be trusted without reservation!
Yes, He does exist,
and God Himself has inscribed in the hearts of the peoples a longing for Him.
That is why they seek Him; that is why they wait for Him,
just as the whole of creation anxiously awaits the manifestation of the sons of God,
with groaning and labour pains (Rom 8:19-22).
But the true King of the nations is not like the kings of this world (Jn 18:36).
He does not come in earthly splendour;
and he does not even call upon the legions of angels
to avoid his capture in Gethsemane (Mt 26:53).
No, the King of the nations is different….
We have to know Him as He really is.
He enters His city riding on a donkey (Mt 21:1-9);
He who is the cornerstone of everything (Acts 4:11).
Without Him the whole construction collapses
and cannot withstand any storm.
Exult, O daughter of Zion!
Behold, your King is coming to you;
Shout for joy, O Jerusalem (Zech 9:9),
for the Prince of peace is coming (Isa 9:5).
Yes, He comes and rescues man from his own abysses;
He frees him from the snares and traps that the Devil has laid for him.
He lifts man up and gives him all his dignity;
and invites the inhabitants of the earth to become His friends (Jn 15:15).
He is the true King of the nations,
the one who gives His life for them (Jn 10:11).
Please, let us not wait any longer
or hesitate any longer to give Him all our love.
Every hour is important!
He will never deceive us;
He will never betray us;
He will always love us,
and in His Kingdom, He will be our eternal bliss.
Such is the King of the nations….
Did you know that? Well, now you know it!
It is Jesus and no one else but Him!
Come, hurry up!
Become also a child of the Great King;
and a friend of His.
Serve Him as He serves you (Mt 20:28)!
