“EVERYTHING HAS MEANING”

“Everything, my son, has meaning. Every word, every gesture, every deed.” (Inner Word)

Becoming aware of this is a path to maturity. It is a final awakening to the reality of God. This certainly does not mean anxiously worrying about whether you are doing something wrong, because that would cause you to become inwardly tense. Our Heavenly Father certainly would not have wanted that, and it would run completely counter to His caring love for us.

No, it is an awakening to the responsibility of our existence. Often we are still quite blind and do not think things through to the end, or we allow ourselves to be guided too quickly by our emotions without examining them.

How wise we become when we first consider in the Lord what we say and write! How quickly words slip from us that still come from an unpurified heart, words that could hurt others, that are inappropriate, and that we often then have to take back, if we are not too proud! How different, however, are words spoken at the right time, that are well considered, and that come from a loving heart!

But even simple gestures are a form of language. They can uplift and encourage people, but they can also become an expression of rejection. Blessed is the one who becomes aware of this and uses them rightly!

And deeds! How significant are good deeds, and how heavily do those weigh that do not conform to God’s will!

This is what the Father wants to bring to our attention, not to frighten us or make us lose heart, but to remind us that everything is laid bare before Him and that we should do everything in a way that is pleasing to Him and thus also serves others.
